Third Eye Power Comes from God?
The Third Eye ability in Psykos’ body is probably a power that comes from God, as it appeared in the latest chapter of One Punch Man. This ability has become the target of parties including the mysterious Tsukuyomi organization. They are even willing to pay a high price for the figure of Psykos to the hero association in order to get this power. However, for what purpose they seek that power is still a mystery.
As shown in chapter 175 yesterday, a mysterious figure from an organization containing espers, Tsukuyomi, came to the place where Psykos was being held. He wants to take an ability that is in the brain from Psykos, namely the Third Eye. In the latest chapter of the manga, there is a hint that maybe the Third Eye’s power comes from God.
What is the Third Eye
In chapter 176, we get another glimpse into the past between Psykos and Fubuki. In the flashback, it can be seen how Psykos tried to surpass his friend and extracurricular leader, Fubuki. According to him, the figure of Fubuki is someone who has reliable psychic abilities where he is able to lift trucks easily.
To be able to surpass Fubuki’s strength, finally Psykos did everything including learning an ability called “Third Eye” from a book. According to research conducted by Psykos, the Third Eye is an ability to see events or something that will happen in the future. Why then did Psykos want to learn this ability?
He apparently wants to predict the future like Lady Shibabawa, a popular fortune teller in the One Punch Man story. That way, he will be able to make Fubuki proud and be able to beat Fubuki’s rival who is also his older brother, Tatsumaki. However, bad things happen to Psykos after he learns about this ability.
Psykos felt a tremendous headache. He also looks to the future and is terrified, where he sees that humans are precisely the cause of the destruction of the earth. Because, in his view, humans do nothing but reproduce and destroy nature. The extreme is according to Psykos, after he sees the vision of the future he wants all humans to be destroyed and start over from scratch.
From God?
Chapter 176 also provides clues about who is the person who might give this power. And the person who could be the source of the Third Eye’s power was none other than God. This is based on his appearance in one of the panels when Fubuki tries to find out what happened to Psykos. Also, when he wanted to know what future he saw.
After Psykos and Tatsumaki’s battle ended at the end of the Monster Association arc, Fubuki tries to find out why Psykos turned evil. When he tried to see inside his head, he saw the figure of Psykos in a meadow. And above it looks a very familiar terrible figure that is God. Fubuki also seemed surprised by what he saw.
Even so, Fubuki still doesn’t seem to know who the mysterious figure he met actually is. For him, the figure is an interesting figure. And this is also the purpose of meeting with Psykos. Fubuki was about to ask about the mysterious figure he saw in the hope that Psykos would provide an explanation for this figure.
Based on that explanation, we can draw a conclusion that there is a possibility that Third Eye’s ability was intentionally created or created by God. Apart from using a mysterious black box, maybe he created this Third Eye technique deliberately to find the perfect vessel for him. However, in fact, Psykos might not be what God was looking for. What’s interesting about this chapter is what makes Psykos scared or paranoid after he sees what will happen in the future. As mentioned above, in chapter 176 Psykos looks to the future and the earth appears to be destroyed. According to his visions, man is the cause of all the chaos on earth. This is due to human nature which only continues to reproduce.
According to him, the destruction of this earth can be prevented by destroying all of humanity and starting all over again. This seems to be in accordance with what Shibabawa predicted before, where in the future there will be a great disaster that destroys the earth. However, before he knew the cause, Shibabawa died from being shocked by what he saw and choking.
What Fubuki saw and what Shibabawa saw was probably God’s purpose on this earth. He probably felt that the humans were simply too numerous. Instead of taking care of the earth, humans actually damage it more and then destroy it. Because of that, the human then needed to be destroyed and then start over from the beginning.
