God of War Adaptation Series Officially Working!
God of War is one of the most popular games on PlayStation. The game tells about the adventures of Kratos, a god of war who chooses to exile himself, starting his new life. And when his wife died, Kratos set out on his dangerous journey with his son, Atreus, to spread his wife’s ashes from the highest peak (Kratos wife’s last wish).
After success God of War: Ragnarokthere are plans to present God of War in a new medium. Recently, Variety reported that the adaptation series God of War would be made, with Rafe Judkins serving as showrunner. Meanwhile, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will write the script and produce it.
Santa Monica Studio Creative Director, Cory Barlog, will also be involved in the creation of the series, in which he serves as executive producer. Later, the series will be released on the Prime Video streaming service. The series will be produced directly by three major studios, namely Amazon Studios, Sony Picture Television, and PlayStation Productions.
The head of Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders, has also stepped down directly to confirm the making of the series God of War. “God of War is an engaging, character-driven franchise that we believe will captivate our global audience with its expansive, immersive world and rich storytelling.”
Sanders added, “We are honored to be involved in this adventure exploring the God of War mythology in such an extraordinary way, together with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, and Santa Monica Studios.”
Besides God of Warcurrently there are several series of PlayStation game adaptations that have been made, namely The Last of Us and Twisted Metal. For The Last of Us, the series is complete, and will be released early next year on HBO. It is still unknown what stories are presented in the series God of War later, will the series actually adapt the story from the game or is there a slight change in terms of the story.
It is also unknown which actors will be involved in the series. Actually there are several actors that fans want to play Kratos, namely Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Tom Hardy, Christopher Judge, and of course Triple H. However, the decision to cast Kratos is in the hands of the studio. Let’s just wait geeks next information!
