Director Reveals Why Wonder Woman 3 Was Canceled!
Following the movie Batgirl which was previously canceled due to the massive DC Universe overhaul, the cancellation of the film WonderWoman 3 turns out to have made many people more surprised.
Director Patty Jenkins was no exception, who recently clarified that the cancellation of the third Wonder Woman film was not her fault. Instead he felt that this all happened because of DC’s decision not to give him the opportunity to change the script to what they wanted.
As we know, Jenkins is a veteran director at DCU who has so far worked on two Wonder Woman films with Gal Gadot. He even claimed to have finished the script WonderWoman 3before finally news about the cancellation of the film appeared.
A lot of news out there stated that one of the reasons for the cancellation was Jenkins who did not want to change the script according to the directions of the new CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran. Feeling disapproved of the news, Jenkins finally opened his mouth.
By open mail on the account Twitter personally, director Patty Jenkins has just explained at length the reason for the cancellation of the film WonderWoman 3 from his point of view. In one of the main points of his discussion he wrote,
“I never wanted to leave [dari proyeknya]. I was very open with everything that was asked of me. I also understand that there is nothing I can do to change anything at this time. DC was buried in all the changes they wanted, so I understand these decisions weren’t easy.”
After Jenkins’ open letter went viral, many fans have now turned to asking James Gunn about the real problem. Via account Twitter personally, Gunn apparently has replied to the open letter from Jenkins. In a short tweet Gunn wrote, “I can attest that all our (Gunn and Peter Safran) interactions with you were quite pleasant and professional.”
After hearing this rather bold clarification from director Petty Jenkins, many Wonder Woman fans and even DCU fans as a whole just hope that everything will turn out okay.
Whether the film will continue with a new director or be completely cancelled, what fans want is for DC Studios’ next plan to live up to their expectations and make DCU even better. What do you think, Geeks?
