Seputargamemoba.com – Makoto Shinkai is a Japanese animator, filmmaker, and manga artist. The latest news reported by Crunchyroll, Makoto Shinkai will release his newest anime film on November 11, 2022, entitled Suzume no Tojimari.

Suzume no Tojimari tells the story of a 17 year old girl named Suzume who lives in Kyushu. One day, Suzume met a young man who told her, “I’m looking for a door.”

Suzume found a single weathered door standing tall in the middle of the ruins as if it was protected from any disaster. However, destruction begins to occur and Suzume must close the doors of disaster that are also open. This film will be screened in Japan first, before showing in Indonesia.

In addition to the Suzume no Tojimari film, the following is another anime by Makoto Shinkai that grabs a lot of attention.

1. Weathering with You

Quoted from Japan Bound, Weathering with You has the original title Tenki no Ko. This anime tells the story of a girl named Hina Amano who takes care of her mother who is in a coma.

One day, Hina sees a light from the sky that breaks through the clouds during the rain and illuminates the roof of a building that has a red torii gate.

Hina came to the roof of the building and prayed right under the red torii gate.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, a high school boy named Hodakka is on a boat trip to Tokyo.

Fate then brought Hina as a rain girl to meet Hodakka until they had a relationship. However, their happiness soon cracked. Hina’s body suddenly became invisible again.

2. Children Who Chase Lost Voices

This anime tells the story of Asuna, a girl who likes to play in the forest. Asuna had a blue crystal that she used as a diode to pick up radio signals.

One day he was walking home when he encountered a bear-like creature that attacked him. Fortunately, Asuna is rescued by a mysterious boy named Shun, who tells her he is from a different world called Agartha.

Asuna didn’t think much of this until she met her substitute teacher who was obsessed with finding Agartha, a place that could resurrect the dead.

3. The Place Promised in Our Early Days

This anime is set in a school in the 1990s in Japan. In an alternate postwar timeline, Japan is divided into a U.S.-controlled Northern (Union controlled) and Southern.

Hokkaido is ruled by the “Union” while Honshu and other southern islands are under US authority. A tall tower was built in Hokkaido and can be seen from Tokyo.

In the summer of 1996, three high school students make a promise that they will cross the border in a self-built plane and uncover the tower’s secret.

However, their plans were discontinued after a girl, Sayuri Sawatari, became mysteriously ill and was transferred to Tokyo.

4. Kimi no Na Wa

This anime tells the story of two high school kids, a boy named Taki and a girl named Mitsuha, who know each other from different time dimensions.

When the two fell asleep, the two would swap bodies. At first they thought it was just a dream. However, the exchanges were becoming more and more frequent and they decided to communicate with the person they were swapping bodies with via a note on their cell phone.

Taki, who was curious about Mitsuha’s figure, began to look for the location where Mitsuha lived which he remembered when they swapped bodies.

After he searches in the library, Taki is surprised because the village where Mitsuha lives has been destroyed by a comet impact several years ago. Taki also tried to go directly to the village and look for Mitsuha’s figure.

5. 5 Centimeters per Second

This anime tells the story of Takaki and Akari. Takaki and Akari are two classmates in elementary school.

Unfortunately, Akari moves to another city because of her parents’ job. The two struggle to keep their friendship alive, as time and distance slowly separate them. When Takaki notices he is getting further away, Takaki decides to visit Akari one last time.

6. The Garden of Words

Koto no ha no niwa or The Garden of Words tells the story of Takao Akizuki, a 15-year-old amateur shoemaker who often skips class to practice making shoes.

When Takao is stressed, he will visit Shinjuku Gyoen National Park when it rains to cool off. Until Takao meets Yukino, a 27-year-old adult girl.

Takao skipped his class to design shoes, while Yukino also avoided work due to deep personal issues. Strangely, their meeting only happened when it was raining.
