How to Register a Baby in the Company's BPJS Pregnancy

A worker is generally registered with BPJS Kesehatan and the contribution is paid by the company. Not only workers, family members also participate in BPJS health, including prospective babies. Workers like you must understand how to register babies in the company’s BPJS womb.

In accordance with the rules of BPJS Health, babies must be registered from the time they are still in the womb. So that he has become a participant in health insurance as soon as he is born.

Category of BPJS Health Participants for Prospective Babies

Babies can be registered with BPJS Health services if their parents have previously registered. So the participation of this prospective baby follows his parents. In BPJS Health there are several groupings or groups of participants, the following is an explanation.

  1. Independent participants, participant contributions are paid independently by the participants every month.
  2. Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI), participants in this category the contributions are borne by the government because they receive subsidies.
  3. Wage Recipient Workers (PPU) participants are BPJS Health participants who are covered by the company where they work.

Requirements and How to Register a Baby in the Company’s BPJS Pregnancy

There are several terms and conditions that apply to the registration of prospective babies specifically for the PPU participant category. Here are some of the terms or conditions:

  • Children or infants whose contributions are borne by the company are only the first, second, and third children.
  • Registration time is from the time the baby is still in the womb until 3×24 hours after the baby is born.
  • BPJS Health registration for babies can be done at the company’s HRD section. Then HRD will forward the registration to the BPJS Health office.

There are several documents that need to be completed when you register your baby to be a BPJS Health PPU participant. Here are the details.

  • Photocopy or scan of the parent’s National Health Insurance – Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS/BPJS Kesehatan) card.
  • Photocopy or scan of parent’s identity card (KTP).
  • Photocopy or scan of Family Card (KK).
  • Pregnancy certificate from a doctor or hospital.
  • Also bring the originals of the JKN-KIS card, KK, and KTP (shown only).

HRD will only be able to take care of BPJS participant registration for prospective babies if you have met all the requirements and documents above.

How to Register a Prospective Baby for BPJS Kesehatan Mandiri

As you already understand, BPJS PPU only covers the first to third children. If you have a fourth child, the child must be registered in the independent participant category. The way to manage it is also different from how to take care of BPJS PPU.

The following are the requirements you need to prepare to take care of the BPJS for the prospective baby for the independent participant category:

  • Copy of KK
  • Photocopy of bank passbook that will be used to pay monthly fees
  • Photocopies of the ID cards of both parents of the prospective baby
  • Pregnancy certificate from a doctor or hospital
  • Ultrasound Results

  1. Visit the BPJS Health office in the Regency or City according to the address on the KTP.
  2. Take the queue number then fill in the registration form.
  3. After that, submit the form and supporting documents to the officer.
  4. After that, BPJS will send a virtual account number for payment of contributions via SMS.
  5. The BPJS card will be printed with a temporary name such as “Prospective Baby Mrs. X”.
