Using Command Prompt “CMD” Help

As is well known, Command Prompt or CMD is able to solve various problems that exist on a laptop or computer. Although this method is quite simple, it is certainly very effective in converting a RAW hard drive to NTFS format. Well, here are some steps to convert a RAW partition to NTFS using the help of the Command Prompt.

  1. First click on the Windows logo, and type Command Prompt or CMD in the search field.
  2. If the CMD application already appears, then right click and select the option “Run As Administrator”.
  3. If the Command Prompt window is already open, then you need to write the command in the form of “covert f /fs:ntfs”. Please note, if the letter “f” after the word “convert” is the purpose of the partition. So if the problem is on the disk partition e, then you can replace it with the letter “e”.
  4. If so, then click Enter and CMD will start the process of converting the hard drive to NTFS format.
  5. When the conversion process is complete, then you can restart the PC or laptop that you are using first.

Using MiniTool Partition Wizard

If the method of changing the hard disk partition from RAW to NTFS using the help of the Command Prompt above does not work, then you can use a special application called MiniTool Partition Wizard. For that, you need to download the MiniTool Partition Wizard application, and follow the steps below.

  1. First, open the MiniTool Partition Wizard application that was previously downloaded.
  2. On the MiniTool Partition Wizard main page, you can right-click on the external hard drive option and select the feature called “Partition Recovery”. In addition, you can also select the target disk option and then click on “Partition Recovery” on the “Check Disk” menu.
  3. After that, this application will provide a scanning range method that you can choose one of them.
  4. If the scanning range option has been determined, then click on the “Next” command.
  5. Then you can also choose the sanning method to be carried out, namely “Quick Scan” or “Full Scan”.
  6. If the scanning process has been completed, then all the partitions on your hard drive will appear and you can select the required partition.
  7. Then select the “Finish” option and you will be brought back to the interface of the MiniTool Partition Wizard application.
  8. At this stage, you can see all the partitions that will be converted to NTFS.
  9. Finally, click Apply to start the process of converting the partition from RAW to NTFS.
