Here's the Story of the Photographer Who Captured Pocong's Photos on Google Maps

Photos seen on Google Maps in the Kedungwaru Kidul area have gone viral on social media. Some of the netizens thought that the figure in the image was an astral creature aka pocong.

The photographer, Tarbis Ribowo said that the photo was taken 2 years ago with a night mode camera.

His intention was to take a view of the #milkyway because at that time the sky was clear. Oh, I took this photo not in the afternoon, yes, not at sunset. I took this photo at 9 am to 10 am…. The origin of the snaps at that time. At that time the results weren’t too bright, because at that time I was still trying to learn the shooting technique. So when I got home, I edited this photo to make it sweet and a little lighter,” he said in a recent post on Instagram.

He didn’t realize that his uploaded photo had gone viral now. “I didn’t realize it at first, then I saw for myself someone was sharing the captured photo on Facebook. At that time it was not really viral. Because it’s just a group in my city,” he said.

“It could be an insect stuck to my camera lens, or it could be an insect flying in front of the camera at close range, making it appear bigger. So if the red eye could be a lens flare or it could be the insect’s eye itself,” he added.
