BM's Cell Phone Blocking Rules Won't Be Legalized On August 17th, Here's Why
The rules for blocking black market (BM) mobile phone users were not legalized as promised on August 17 yesterday. The signing of the regulation seems to have had a few problems.
One of them is in the coordination section of the three ministries, namely the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) and the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).
Actually there are no problems with these rules, including those related to draft The ministerial regulation (Permen) is almost finished.
Initially, the Ministerial Regulation regarding BM cellphones would be signed on August 17, 2022, which coincided with the momentum of the 74th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. However, so far this regulation has not been ratified.
If asked when? Maybe we should wait for the ministers first. Although it was signed in August, it is predicted that it will still take about six months to implement the policy.
This time is needed by the ministry in preparing eight things. Among them are the SIRINA machine, IMEI database preparation, test implementation, operator data synchronization, socialization, HR preparation, SOPs for three ministries to customer service preparation.
So if the signing is according to the schedule on August 17 yesterday, then the process for blocking the cellphone black market will start in February 2022.
