Downloading content is a habit of people when they are on the internet. Whether it is downloading videos, pictures, or documents, some of these downloads are very important to keep, so not only must the internet connection be maintained to keep them stable, but the program used to download the file must also be seen whether it actually works downloads the file with true or not at all.

A currently very popular download program is IDM. The program has been used by many internet users around the world to make it easy to download files from a website. However, there are things that prevent IDM from being able to download files properly, and that includes dozens of problems that can of course be resolved through the IDM settings. One serious problem that results in IDM not being able to download the file it wants is a problem of: Firewall ISP used.

One of the most common mistakes is the warning “An error occurred while establishing a security connection on the server“And this also has an effect from several sides, be it from the server of the file, or there is a malfunction on the PC that is causing this. But whatever it is, it is very annoying and results in the user being unable to download the file. In this article, I am going to show you how to solve the problem and refer you to the following right away.

  1. Restart IDM – In most of the cases that users and even myself have experienced, this problem occurs due to a malfunction in the program that seems to be blocking the website address for this one task. So try to exit IDM by right-clicking, then selecting Exit and reopening the IDM program IDMan.exe and restart.
  2. Change HTTPS to HTTP for Download URL – This method aims to finish authentication and sometimes it will not work if the user downloads it from a forum website that requires the user to log in to download the file.
  3. Switch to a different network – Assuming the user is currently using IDM with a dial-up connection or modem, try using a different network such as WiFi if one has one. It could be that this problem is from an unauthorized connection from the ISP.
  4. Try to download through the browser – The first step is to deactivate IDM in a browser in the IDM settings. Then try to download it directly from the browser. If successful, this error occurs with IDM which is malfunctioning and needs to be restarted.
  5. Reload the download address – This is the last resort, namely to reload the currently used download address. Because some may not know whether the download address has expired or can still be used. Please right click on Download and press Update download address.

Overall, I recommend restarting IDM as I think it will be more accurate. The cause that occurs is usually due to an inadequate connection, or so to speak idle long enough for the download process not to run and this to happen. But sometimes that’s also because the download server is really problematic and the user can Change the protocol to HTTP without the letter S at the end. If you have anything to ask, please comment.

Hopefully useful and good luck
