What are the ideal provisions for Umrah? Check out these tips
For those of you who want to go for Umrah for the first time, you will definitely be a little confused about what the ideal provisions are for going on Umrah, whether they are cheap, expensive or just ordinary, so here is a little information about the provisions you can bring outside of the travel costs.
How Much Provisions for Umrah?
When I left for Umrah on September 13 2025, I exchanged it IDR 5,000,000 or approx 1,125 riyalsand there are still approx 600 riyals or half of it. Even then, I bought various souvenirs such as turbans, dates, chocolate, nuts and daily snacks there.
The prices tend to be more expensive, for example Pop noodles at that time were around 15 riyals, coffee around 5 riyals, and the value of 1 riyal was around Rp. 4,100. Although actually you can also not snack outside, because everyone is already at the hotel during the breakfast, lunch and dinner schedule. But it’s not just like that while you’re on a pilgrimage here, at least you can taste the local snacks.
So if you want to go on Umrah, my advice is to bring pop noodles, milk/coffee from Indonesia, so you can save more. And for example, if you want to buy souvenirs, buy them directly in Mecca, precisely at the clock tower, there are lots of supermarkets there, there is Bin Dawood too, the prices are cheaper than the date palm plantations in Medina.
There were also other pilgrims who brought IDR 2,000,000 which was enough for souvenirs there. So, you can just adjust how much you want to bring, for example if you want to bring more at once, you can exchange the rest for rupiah or use it as alms/Quranic endowments when you want to go home.
