Appears Frequently, Wong Has Confronted Kang the Conqueror?

Who would have thought that out of the many characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the busiest of all is Wong, the wizard Kamar Taj who has now become the Sorcerer Supreme of the MCU. There are lots of mysterious things Wong has been up to throughout Phase 4 of the MCU, including appearing in most of the early episodes of the Multiverse Saga. This indirectly raises the question why he seems so busy? Perhaps Wong had already realized the existence and threat of the big bad villain of the Multiverse Saga, Kang the Conqueror. Let’s discuss this interesting theory, geeks!

Wong’s Existence As Sorcerer Supreme

In the MCU itself, Wong, played by Benedict Wong, is a character who made his debut as the librarian of Kamar Taj in the film Doctor Strange (2016). After Stephen Strange became the Sorcerer Supreme, he was seen always accompanying him and occasionally giving advice to his best friend. Until Strange finally fell victim to Thanos Snap at Avengers Infinity Wars and just came back in Endgame after being missing for about 5 years. It turns out that during the Snap-Blip break, Wong had become the new Sorcerer Supreme, replacing Strange even now.

Maybe for some people, even though Wong was the Sorcerer Supreme, he still looked normal and there was nothing special about him. In fact, Marvel Comics itself has mentioned that a Sorceress Supreme actually has access to the powerful powers of Vishanti, Octessence, Principalities, and other powerful entities. Which in turn allows the Sorcerer Supreme to gain more information and knowledge from the past, present, maybe even the future. Where all of that is useful to protect the Earth from all kinds of threats.

If the status of the Sorcerer Supreme in the MCU is as terrible as in Marvel Comics, it’s not impossible that the Sorcerer Supreme Wong has actually known and maybe even experienced something that no one else has experienced. Regardless of how it was done, whether through dreams, the astral world, or even the Quantum Realm, it was very likely that Wong had realized ‘something’, so now he seemed busier than the others. In other words, his sensitivity as the MCU’s Sorcerer Supreme may have made Wong more sensitive to the appearance of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors).

Secretly Forming a Super Squad in the MCU

As we know, apart from Kang/He Who Remains, Wong is the character who appears most frequently in Phase 4 of the MCU. Not only as a cameo, but also as a person who at least has tied most of the early story of the Multiverse Saga. For example, its appearance in credit scene Shang-chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which has indirectly connected new characters like Shang-Chi with the old Avengers, Bruce Banner and Captain Marvel. Wong even suspects that the Ten Rings are artifacts that have the potential to threaten Earth.

Then Wong was also seen being very busy in carrying out the duties of the Sorcerer Supreme as well as training the magicians of the Taj Room at Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Secretly he also met with Abomination in the film Shang-Chi which is eventually discussed back in the series She-Hulk. Perhaps without us realizing it, Wong is actually preparing a super army to face the big threat from Kang the Conqueror. Superheroes old and new are no exception, as are the wizards and former supervillains he can muster.

What Is Wong’s Biggest Fear?

If it’s true that Wong is preparing super troops in the MCU, now the question is what exactly Wong is afraid of Kang. As mentioned above regarding the information that the Sorcerer Supreme has access to, it is possible that Wong may have sensed perhaps even experienced future events related to the upcoming film. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (May 2, 2025). Either through a dream or some other way that no one else can, maybe Wong has faced kang at some point timeline in the MCU.

After Wong learned that Kang was very difficult to beat, because he also had access to knowledge of the past, present, and future, Wong finally took the initiative to secretly use all his time and strength to prepare super troops. He does this in order to increase the chances of Bumi winning against Kang in the future. On the other hand, he also couldn’t tell anyone else so that his grand plan wouldn’t reach Kang’s ears. Until the time comes, other people will finally realize how meritorious Wong has been.

That’s a discussion of the theory and all the possibilities about Wong secretly forming a super squad because he has faced Kang before. With this theory at least we can find out the real reason why apart from Kang and his variants, Wong is another MCU character who appears very frequently in Phase 4 of the MCU. What do you think, Geeks? Is it possible that the Sorcerer Supreme Wong has such a big role in the Multiverse Saga? Let’s just wait for the truth in the future of the MCU which will certainly be full of surprises and much more lively than before.
