Strategy to Secure Pinterest Account from Suspend

pinterest account suspended

Currently, almost all social media have implemented a suspension penalty or account suspension for users who carry out inappropriate activities that violate the policies made by the relevant social media. There was one incident of suspension that hit many Twitter account users on the same day. On Pinterest, from the opinion of several users who have been using this social media for a long time as a place for them to promote content, etc., almost all of them have experienced incidents of being suspended, because according to them, Pinterest is increasingly updating its algorithms to avoid users from content. sensitive and inappropriate behavior.

After experiencing several times returning a suspended pinterest account, I finally got curious and decided to look at the pinterest rules more specifically and do a comparison with the help of several discussion forums discussing this, because not a few also complained about their accounts being penalized for suspension for no apparent reason. obviously, suddenly the message “account is suspended” with the excuse of spam, while the user in question does not feel he has committed a violation such as the category of the message sent. The average warning that is often carried out until the user gets a penalty is “spam”.

From some of the information obtained, there are actually signs of an account that has been reprimanded by Pinterest, unfortunately it is subtly terminated sometimes the user doesn’t realize it, if the user doesn’t pay attention to the suspension, then this is the main reason the account is suspended.

After visiting several discussion forums, sharing a little about Pinterest rules, and I decided to try to do a case study from sharing experiences of people and myself when I was suspended. There are accounts that can be restored and some are permanently suspended.

The purpose of the case study some time ago before this article was written was to better understand the rules of pinterest, and find out the limits of activities that lead to spam indications. here I created 3 accounts, of which several accounts have their respective tasks to identify spam:

The reason for only pinning, uploading and commenting?

Reports that often appear and on average obtained by users who are suspended are for the reason “SPAM”. From some of the activities above, it is certain that they are often indicated as spam if the user does some of these activities excessively.

Identified Spam Category

After experiencing the event of account being suspended and looking for information from several people with the same experience:

  1. Spam URL

According to some users, one web/blog/other social media content url should only be posted once. For example, for blog posts, the url may only be posted once to Pinterest.

What if one url is spread to different accounts?

To share the url, it is enough to upload one post to one account, while other accounts pin the post. According to personal experience, if you still insist on doing these activities, you will be penalized, starting from a light penalty, 24 hours suspension, which is even worse, permanent suspension.

First try :

After 3 accounts are ready; I did upload photos, 5 photos of accomplices, I did this activity for a whole week. Day 9, 10 are still safe.

Second Trial:

  • The first account increased the pin intensity to 7 pins per day for 1 week
  • The second account, the number of pins created is the same as the first account, it’s just that in the second account I try to comment on 5 other people’s pins every day for 1 week
  • The third account, the same as the first account, creates 7 pins every day for 1 week, pinning others 5 times.

From the second try, the account is still safe, without any warning signs.

Third try:

  • Increase the intensity of pin generation 1 day 10 pins for 3 accounts for one week
  • Second account, comment on other people’s 7 pins for 1 week
  • Pin people 7 times for 1 week

Is it still safe?, the answer is still safe

Fourth try:

In this fourth experiment, I only used one account, started to be a bit aggressive, made 10 pins, commented on 7 pins, and pinned 7 other people’s posts at the same time, meaning just make a pin, immediately comment on people’s pins, while pinning people’s posts.

Is it still safe? Here there is a small warning, when pinning someone else’s post click “save”, failed to pin, initially the save button was clicked and turned white, then turned red again.

Maybe because of the network?
It could be, after checking 2 hours later, the account was suspended by pinterest for spam reasons

Appeal ?
because the appeal button has been prepared, I immediately appealed. And the next morning I checked the account again, finally it was back.

What can be obtained from the fourth experiment:

  • The activity of making 10 pins, 7 comments, and pinning 7 posts at the same time is considered spam

Fifth Trial:

  • The first account has been increased to 15 posts per day, perpin is given a 1-3 hour lag
  • Second account 15 posts at the same time
  • The third account that has been suspended 24 hours focus 15 comments at the same time

Of the three accounts, the first account is still safe. The second account has signs on the fourth day that an error occurred when creating a pin. The third account is pathetic after entering the third day, permanently suspended.

Important ; Accounts that have been suspended will be easily subject to permanent suspension

Conclusion :

From the several experiments above, 1 account became a permanent victim of suspension, another account received an error warning when creating a pin, the first account was still safe and was still in use for about a month before being permanently suspended like his brother. the second account is no longer used after getting a warning. So for 15 pins per day with a time lag, it seems that their activities will be monitored until they are finally suspended. For the account I’m using now, a maximum of 10 pins per day is durable to this day. 10 pins per day with a time lag I use as a reference for other accounts.

But :

There is also information that I got, an account with a pinterest IP and device that has been suspended will affect other accounts even though they have different emails. According to this information, this is the reason the pinterest account that was created later is vulnerable to suspension, this is still unclear, you can prove it yourself.

Important: To distinguish between humans and bots, almost all social media security has been accompanied by identification features such as the emergence of captcha. In many cases of logging in on multiple social media accounts, a captcha will appear when too many login attempts are made at the same time, and this is suspected of being a bot.
