After successfully sending a robotic explorer named Opportunity in 2003, unfortunately, this vehicle lost communication in 2022 due to the sandstorm that occurred on the red planet at that time.

Now Nasa is sending back a similar rover robot that has been equipped with advanced technology called Perseverance, this rover robot is not alone, he is accompanied by another vehicle, uniquely, the vehicle that will accompany Perseverance will be the first vehicle to fly outside the earth , and became the first to soar across the planet Mars.

The vehicle is the Mars Helicopter, which is named Ingeunity. As is well known, the Mars Helicopter is equipped with sophisticated sensors and sophisticated equipment, which will be used to take samples and other data such as the state of the surface on the red planet Mars. looking for signs of life such as microbes

In a statement from a NASA Mars Helicopter (Ingenuity) Manager, Mimi Aung; he confirmed that “that humans have never flown a helicopter outside the earth, and this will be the first moment” in a press conference on Tuesday 28 July 2022. Apart from NASA there have been various other probes sent there from various world space agencies as orbiters. , explorers, all of that is intended to be able to study the planet more specifically starting from the atmosphere, the material of the planet mars, the temperature conditions there, weather conditions, climate and etc.

The atmosphere of Mars is very thin, its density is about 1% when compared to the atmosphere on Earth, therefore, to be able to fly there, a vehicle must be made with a light weight, in order to produce lift, so that in addition to being able to fly, the spacecraft must be able to fly. which is made must also be able to maneuver quickly.

In addition to being equipped with various sophisticated equipment, Ingeunity’s energy source comes from the solar panel located on the top of the rotor. These 2 levels of rotors are made with the intention that 1 rotor is used to maintain altitude, while the second rotor is used to transfer, this is an estimate that makes the Ingeunity spacecraft very agile in the Red Planet field.

Ingeunity is also equipped with a high-resolution camera equipped with sensors, and this is where the data retrieval process begins, the resulting visuals are processed as raw data which is then sent to earth via Electra ultra high Frequency (UHF) wave communication.

Planet Mars is known to have very extreme temperatures at night, so Ingeunity is also installed a layer that can perform heat exchange (transfer of temperature pressure) to keep the batteries in Ingeunity warm.
