One of the chat applications that are currently being widely used besides WhatsApp is LINE. LINE itself is widely used because it has a variety of interesting features and is quite complete.

Like other chat applications, LINE also has a feature to delete friends. How to delete friends on LINE is quite easy and doesn’t take long.

There are three ways to delete friends on LINE, namely hide friends, block friends, and delete friends. Even though they are different, in terms of objectives, the three methods have something in common because they can eliminate friends’ activities on LINE.

3 Ways to Delete Friends on LINE

1. Doing Hide Friends

While it can remove a friend’s activity on your timeline, this method will not delete the friend completely.

This way you will only hide your friends’ contacts from your timeline and chats and they can be shown again at any time. The following is how to hide friends in the LINE application.

  1. The first step is to open the LINE application on your smartphone device.
  2. After that tab symbol Home which is in the lower left corner.
  3. After that select the menu Friends and you can select the friends you want to hide in the list that will appear.
  4. To hide it you can press a few moments until several options appear. Tap option Hide to hide it.
  5. A confirmation message will appear later if you really want to hide it. Tap the button OK if you are sure you want to hide friend.

2. Block Friend

By doing this block, your friends will not be able to send chats and will not appear on your timeline if you update.

How to do this block friend is not much different from doing a hide friend. To be more clear, you can follow the steps to block friends below.

  1. The first step is to open the LINE application on the smartphone you are using.
  2. After entering the main page, select the symbol Home in the lower left corner.
  3. On the Home page, select an option Friends to find the friend you want to block. You can also use the features Search to make it faster to find the friend you want to block.
  4. If you have found it, tap for a while until a pop up window appears containing several options. To block friends, select an option Block.
  5. After that tap the button OK and done, you have blocked the contact from the friends list on LINE.

3. Delete Friends

If hiding or blocking friends is not enough, then you can delete friends to completely remove contacts from the friends list in your LINE account. To delete a friend you can follow the steps below.

  1. Open the LINE application then on the main page select menu Settings (gear symbol).
  2. If you have entered the settings page, scroll down and select menu Friends.
  3. Later on the friends page there is “Hidden users” and “Blocked users”, select one of the two options.
  4. After that find the contact you want to delete then tap the button Edit.
  5. Later a pop up window will appear, you can choose an option Delete.
  6. Done, you have successfully removed the user from the LINE contact list.
