4 Differences TikTok and TikTok Lite You Should Know
This is the difference between regular TikTok and TikTok Lite that you need to know, apart from the size, in terms of features, many have been trimmed.
A lot of things have changed regarding social media lately. Many applications have boomed since the pandemic, one of which is TikTok.
This application developed by ByteDance became very popular, especially in 2022. Until now, there are still many people who use this application.
The success of TikTok made the developers decide to make a similar application, namely TikTok Lite.
In general, TikTok and TikTok Lite work the same way. However, there are some differences that underlie the two.
The following are some of the differences between TikTok and TikTok Lite that you need to know.
Difference Between Regular TikTok and TikTok Lite
1. App Size
From the name, you can probably guess which application is lighter. The regular or standard version of TikTok requires more than 75 MB of initial storage.
This is certainly different from TikTok Lite which only requires 21 MB at the beginning of the download.
This makes many users prefer to use TikTok Lite over the standard version of TikTok, especially those whose phones don’t have a lot of storage.
2. Complete Features
The second difference between TikTok and TikTok Lite is the completeness of the features. If on standard TikTok you can see the block and report buttons, then you can’t see them on TikTok Lite.
TikTok Lite is not equipped with a report feature so you can’t report inappropriate videos.
You also can’t directly block the creator who made the inappropriate video.
However, this feature does not seem to have much effect on people’s interest in using the TikTok Lite application.
3. QR Code Search
If you’ve used standard TikTok before, then you’re probably quite aware of this difference.
In the standard TikTok interface, in the search page for fish recommendations, you can see where to scan the barcode there.
Scan this QR code can be used to find a creator account. But this feature is not available on TikTok Lite.
TikTok Lite does not come with a QR Code search function or ad slide recommendation.
4. Notification Logo
The next difference is the notification logo. In standard TikTok, you can see a notification icon when someone sends you a message.
While on TikTok Lite you will not see any logo. If there are messages or DMs that come in, you have to check it yourself manually.
Those are some of the differences between standard TikTok and TikTok Lite. Both of course have advantages and disadvantages of each.
