3 Ways to Overcome IDM Asking for Serial Number for Registration

How to Overcome IDM that Asks for a Serial Number
Basically you have to subscribe to be able to use all the features this app has to offer.

1. Rename File
The first way you can do is to change the file name. There is a file that you must rename and it is located in the folder where IDM is installed. To be more clear, consider the following steps:
- First, remove all IDM application windows that are open in Windows, including applications that are active in the system tray (bottom right corner) near the time and date display.
- Next, please enter the folder where IDM is installed, usually in the Disk C > Program Files > Internet Download Manager.
- If you are already in it, please find a file named IDMGrHlp.exethen rename the file to idmhelp-old.exe.
- After that, please restart the computer so that the changes that have been made can take effect.
- After the computer restarts, open the IDM folder again.
- Look for a file named idmBroker.exethen rename the file to IDMGrHlp.exe.
- Restart your computer.
- Done. Now Internet Download Manager on your computer will be Full Version.
Notes: If the same problem still occurs, please repeat the method above to resolve it. This method should have been able to remove the serial number notification for a long time.

2. Using IDM Fake Serial Remover
The following method includes an easy way to do it. It’s just that you need a third party app to do it. Here are the steps to do it:
- The first thing you have to make sure is that the IDM used is the most updated version of IDM.
- Next, please download the IDM Fake Serial Remover application first via the following link: https://bit.ly/IDM_FS_Remover
- Also make sure the antivirus on your computer is disabled. Please check in the system tray. If not, just right-click on the antivirus icon, then select Disable.
- After you have successfully downloaded the file from the link above, please just extract the file into a folder. Later there will be a number of files that will appear.
- Run and install the file named TrashReg.exe.
- If it has been successfully installed, just run the application and delete the file with the name Visual Protect 3.5+.
- Next open the Task Manager. How to press Ctrl+Shift+Esc. If the Task Manager window is already open, select the tab Process.
- You will see a list of running applications there. Look for a file named IDMan.exe. Click on the application, then right click and select End Process.
- Now go back to the folder where you extracted the downloaded file. Look for a file named IDM Trial Reset.exe and run.
- Within the application, select the tab trial reset and check option Automatically. Please wait a few moments until the process is successful.
- After completing the above process, then copy the file Patch.exe, IDMGrHlp.exe and also Registration.reg. Paste the three files in the folder where IDM is installed.
- If a notification window appears, just select it replace/overwrite.
- After that, right-click on the Patch.exe file > Select Run as Administrator > Click Patch > Then fill in the first name and last name fields as you wish.
- After that, close the menu Patch. Next, double click on the file with the name Registration.reg.
- Done. Now you can use IDM comfortably without being asked for a serial number again.

3. Editing the Hosts File
The third way to solve the IDM problem above is to edit the hosts file on Windows that you have. To do this at least you have to be quite thorough. Please refer to the steps to do this below:
- First of all, open Windows Explorer by pressing the key Windows + E.
- Go to the Hosts file folder located at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.
- Right-click on the Hosts file, then select Open with > Notepad. Not long after that the file will open using the notepad application.
- Next, you will find the words 127.0.0.1 localhost. Below the text, please enter the following text:
- 127.0.0.1 tonec.com
- 127.0.0.1 www.tonec.com
- 127.0.0.1 registeridm.com
- 127.0.0.1 www.registeridm.com
- 127.0.0.1 secure.registeridm.com
- 127.0.0.1 secure.internetdownloadmanager.com
- 127.0.0.1 mirror.internetdownloadmanager.com
- 127.0.0.1 mirror2.internetdownloadmanager.com
- 127.0.0.1 www.internetdownloadmanager.com
After that, save this file and then change the properties of this file, in the section Attributes below please check Read-only.
Done. Now you have successfully removed the annoying notification.
Notes: In order to run smoothly, you should first turn off the antivirus and internet connection when running this method. The reason is, sometimes this method cannot be done if the antivirus is active, because it can be detected as a virus.
