Kitaria Fables Review – Interesting Combination With Shallow End
When first introduced, Kitaria Fables immediately caught my attention due to various factors. First, games it combines adventure/action/combat with farming, a combination that is rarely found out there. Second, games It looks beautiful with cute characters. Third, games It was made by an Indonesian studio, Twin Hearts.
Unfortunately, despite having an interesting premise and idea, Kitaria Fables failed to maximize element gameplay which are owned.
Adventure First, Farming Second
You are the heir to your grandfather who is a farmer as well as a great knight in a village in the middle of the wilderness. Unfortunately, this village is being hit by a phenomenon called Calamity which makes wild animals around it become wild and attack anyone. As the heir, you then come and protect the village while finding and eradicating the source behind the Calamity.
In the game you will more often wander and adventure while defeating the enemy. But on the sidelines you also grow crops and help the villagers and the people around you.
Kitaria Fables actually is action adventure games with elements of farming as a complement. This can be seen from how deep the mechanism is combat and action that you can explore compared to the farming elements. Not only that, how is the structure of the “story” in games It also emphasizes the priority to action and adventure. Throughout the game you will receive missions from various characters. Some of them are mandatory, the rest are side but will probably unlock new features in the game like items new.
Games it has a system skill tree which is quite interesting which is balanced by skills Limited character slots. That means you actually have to determine the combination skills that you bring. Unfortunately this system is not matched by combat which is interesting. Almost all combat demands you to attack, use skills, then dodge according to the opponent’s attack area indicator. In the end you just need to bring skills the most powerful and probably the safest (long range of use or short animations). This is a shame because your character doesn’t have any EXP or levels. It means attraction games it really depends on the system combatwhich turned out to be not very deep.
Troublesome System
When adventuring and defeating monsters, you will get items what you can make items other or toupgrade items that you already have and there are quite a lot of them and are available at different NPCs. Each items need different materials aka come from different monsters.
It’s just that even though it invites you to collect materials from various monsters, games it does not provide a catalog where you can find individual ingredients. The only way to find out where each ingredient is is to look at the details of the missions you have or are currently on.
Not only that, although relatively small, world map Kitaria Fables take a long time to explore. Indeed, as you progress you will find a point fast travel. It’s just that there are some areas that don’t have dots fast travel strategic or just fast travel one way. It means to visit a certain point for farming you have to bother walking and wasting time which goes quite fast.
Because it emphasizes more actionexploration and adventure, farming in Kitaria Fables also fairly simple. You farm just to earn money, to get materials to make itemsand occasionally qualify to complete missions.
Farming here also does not have complicated rules. Just plant what you want, water it every day, then take it when it’s ready to harvest. You don’t have to consider the season or the weather which indirectly makes farming longer and longer feels like an annoying routine and makes your adventure time valuable.
Finally, in terms of control, Kitaria Fables have different control convenience between controller and mouse/keyboard. Navigate menus and combat much easier if you use controller. Meanwhile, if you use keyboardyou will lose some shortcuts which helps you play, especially when you want to make the transition from farming to combat and adventure. But whatever you use, UI/UX and system storage in Kitaria Fables still unintuitive and sometimes confusing.
One thing that I think deserves thumbs up is the visual design. World Kitaria Fables looks beautiful with eye-catching and consistent colors. The various types of areas also make your eyes quite spoiled with the variety of beauty that exists. Coupled with cute character designs, presentation games This quality must be recognized.
But the main highlight for farming simulator game as Kitaria Fables still is gameplayand the rules stay the same though games it emphasizes more adventure and action. Unfortunately in this aspect Kitaria Fables only able to present gameplay which basic or surface level good in terms of combat as well as farming. Some of its features also make the experience tedious or even annoying after a few hours.
If you are looking for games which combines adventure/combat and farming with the system gameplay very simple, you might like Kitaria Fables. But if you want to find games similar to deeper systems, I recommend serial Rune Factory or maybe My Time at Portia.
