WhatsApp is Vulnerable to Burglary, Don't Carelessly Install Suspicious Applications

Recently, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) issued a statement regarding WhatsApp being considered an open platform. This means that WhatsApp is very vulnerable to being hacked, for that it is recommended for users not to install strange applications carelessly.

This was immediately revealed by the Director of Information Control, Investigation and Digital Forensics of BSSN Bondan Widiawan when discussing the potential for cloning WhatsApp accounts in an interview with CNBC Indonesia TV.

According to him, only a few people have reported that they have been cloned by WhatsApp. Then there are also several reports of alleged hijacking of WhatsApp accounts.

If the person who hijacked WhatsApp was identified as a violation, then as stated in Article 28 of the ITE Law, it could be processed through legal channels. We can rely on evidence according to the standards of digital forensics.

The attack on WhatsApp can happen to anyone, so it requires knowledge, awareness, and vigilance from the users themselves. Users should be more careful in using such social media.

Prevent WhatsApp from being easily hacked by hackers

Related to this, Bondan also provided a solution to prevent WhatsApp from piracy. First by activating verification code. In addition, users must also protect their accounts from unexpected notifications, for example, they are active on WhatsApp Web but are not logged in.

In addition, Bondan also emphasized that users do not carelessly install unofficial WhatsApp applications from third parties. Bonda also said to be more careful in installing other applications, such as Emoji WhatsApp from third parties.
