Thousands of Zoom Cloud Meeting Teleconferencing Videos Leaked on the Internet
Who doesn’t know the Zoom Cloud Meeting application, which is quite popular during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the security of this popular teleconferencing application is starting to be doubted. According to reports many of Zoom’s teleconferencing video recordings were leaked on the internet.
There are thousands of Zoom video recordings stored in third-party applications without any protection such as passwords so that anyone can view and download them.
One of the security researchers named Patrick Jackson, he revealed there are 15,000 Zoom video footage that is not protected with a password stored in the cloud.
Thousands of Recorded Videos in the Zoom Cloud Meeting Application Spread on the Internet

According to a Washington Post report they also found several leaked videos. Such as personal therapy videos, teaching and learning videos, business meeting videos, to immoral videos.
In the leaked health training video, it also contains cell phone numbers and participant names. In addition, the company’s financial report documents during a business teleconference were also leaked.
For teaching and learning activities, the recording shows all the faces of the children and their information.
This means that every video recording stored by the user, the Zoom video recording can be easily accessed by other people who are not the owner.
System gap in storage
It’s a shame that Zoom’s recorded videos that have been circulating on the internet are also known to have been accidentally downloaded by other platforms.
Zoom does have a feature that allows paid users to store cloud recordings like on Zoom servers.
However, users can also save on other devices such as PCs or laptops and their personal servers.
However, there was a misconfiguration during storage, which made Zoom video footage vulnerable and accessible to others. Other people can also hack the server after that they download all the Zoom video recordings that the user has saved.
The Zoom application has a feature where the host (meeting organizer) can record a video conference without the consent of all participants. They only get a notification if the teleconference is being recorded and can also choose the option to leave the meeting.
If you feel you don’t want to be recorded due to security concerns, you can tell the host or leave the session.
The Zoom application suddenly became popular after it was widely used by users around the world who were in quarantine or isolation to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Many of them use the Zoom cloud meeting application to conduct online meetings, hold discussions about work, as well as teaching and learning activities at home.
But now the issue of Zoom vulnerabilities has started to be talked about lately. Zoom’s CEO, Eric S Yuan, has admitted that the app is not completely secure.
He has also promised to resolve issues related to privacy and security within the next 90 days.
