This Google Application Makes the Battery Run Out Fast!
Of course you’ve seen Google Play Services, which is arguably Google’s service center. This application is in charge of managing mobile phone features such as GPS, push notificationsuntil the process background. However, this application can also make the phone battery wasteful.
There is a bugs which is in Google Play Services version 18.2.82 which was found recently making the battery wasteful. That’s a bug that causes battery power to remain used even when the device is not in use or in mode stand by.
Because the problem occurs in Google Play Services, of course this must be addressed so that it does not have a bad impact on Android devices. This wasteful battery bug has also spread to versions of Android and cellphones from various vendors.
How to Check Wasteful Battery Usage on Android
Now to see if your cellphone is also affected, you can open the ‘Settings’ menu then open the battery menu then select the ‘Show full device usage’ option on the three-dot icon at the top right.
Then you will find which application consumes the most battery, as seen from the screenshot on twitter below.
If this Google Play Service is in the top three with a dozen or tens of percent battery consumption, then this application is most likely having problems on your phone.
Then how to solve it? There is no clear solution to this problem yet. However, there are several steps you can take, one of which is cleaning cache as well as storage Google Play Store in the app menu inside Android ‘Settings’.
Or you can also do downgrade Google Play Services apps to versions before 18.3.82 are problematic. Later if there is a newer version it will be updated automatically by the phone.
How to find out the version of the Google Play Service application
Now for those who want to know the version of Google Play Services that is already installed, you can follow these steps.
- Go to settings or ‘Settings’ on Android phone
Then select Apps
- Then search for the Google Play Services app
And open click on the application
- Then scroll down to the very end
You can see the number or version of Google Play Services on your Android phone
If you see version 18.3.82 and there is no problem with the phone battery you are using, then you don’t need to do the above method. But if it’s true that you feel that the Google Play Store is making your phone battery wasteful, then you can do this downgrade and delete cache as above.
