PMGC 2022 format
Tencent as developers have announced the latest format that they will use at the PMGC 2022 event later. With this new format, PMGC Season 1 will be a fairly long tournament because it is divided into 3 phases, namely League, League Finals, and Grand Finals.
To reach the peak event, each team will be divided into two divisions based on Regional, namely East and West. Each consists of 20 teams, the twenty teams will compete in the League round for the top 16 position. And those who will qualify are entitled to advance to the next round, namely the League Finals.
The League Finals round will be participated by each of the 16 best teams from the West and East divisions. Later, the 9 best teams from the East and the 6 best teams from the West plus 1 invited team will advance to the Grand Finals which is the culmination of the PMGC 2022.
When will PMGC 2022 Start?
Based on the existing announcements, PMGC 2022 itself will be held on November 30-19 December 2022. The format in this event is still the same as before, namely each team will have a weekday match and then those who qualify will follow the superweekend.
The League Finals itself will take place on 22 December- 24 December 2022 future. In the League Finals the teams will play 6 matches over 3 days.
PMGC 2022 prize pool is US$ 6 million or equivalent to Rp 86 billion. With this amount, it means that the PMGC Season 1 prize has increased 3 times compared to the previous season.
