Office WiFi is Very Vulnerable to Hackers, Here's How to Prevent It!

Do you think that all this time, Office WiFi is completely secure? If so, from now on you have to be even more careful, because the office WiFi is vulnerable to being hacked by irresponsible people.

According to the results of research that has been done Kaspersky Labthey managed to find a company that enforces unique and complex passwords on their wireless networks.

If a simple password of course only takes a few seconds to be cracked. But it’s a different story if you use a complex password, of course it will take more time to break it.

Here researchers from Kaspersky found that many of the companies did not install patches at the right time. Especially if it involves reflashing the firmware. In this condition, hackers can easily enter the WiFi network.

There are also many companies that use WiFi differently from their guests and employees. According to Kaspersky this is one reasonable prevention.

Generating a password for a network reserved for guests is easy. However, in some cases, if the network is not configured properly, it will allow guests to also enter some elements of the company’s infrastructure.

How to Prevent Office WiFi from Hacking

To prevent this from happening, Kaspersky provides several suggestions that can be done including:

  1. Perform a firmware update of the WiFi router as well as the access point.
  2. Apply a unique, long, complex password or password. And employees only need to enter once on each device. Strong passwords make the hacker’s job more complicated too.
  3. Limit the signal range, so that the network is not used outside the office
  4. Hide network name for hard to find
  5. Create network names that are unusual and difficult for criminals to guess.

Those are some suggestions from Kaspersky to overcome hacking. It’s better to be careful using public networks, before all the things we don’t want happen to ourselves.
