Many Imported Goods Circulate in Online Stores, Here's Rudiantara's Explanation

When we explore online stores, there must be a lot of foreign goods that are present, right? It turns out that this is considered to have a bad impact on local products. However, the Minister of Communication and Information (Mekominfo) said that these imported products have a contribution to the country.

“He said that currently one of the contributors to the state deficit is e-commerce. I said this could be yes, could be no. Yes, if e-commerce is business to consumer (B to C) and brings goods from abroad, ”

According to him, currently e-commerce also contributes to the state deficit. Usually e-commerce has a business-to-consumer nature, meaning that store providers are not importers, but buy products from distributor agents in Indonesia.

That way what needs to be considered here is the distributor. So that they do not import goods in large quantities from abroad. The Minister of Communication and Information also urges us to continue to consider Indonesian products before buying foreign products.

“Because we are Indonesians, try not to buy goods from abroad. Indeed, many imported goods are cheap. However, it is possible that other countries could dump them into the Indonesian market,” said Rudiantara during a press conference for the 8th Anniversary of Blibli.com.
