Here's the Difference between VPN and Cloudflare DNS, which is more secure?

Currently, some people have used Virtual Private Networks (VPN) to access social media which was recently restricted by the government. Apart from VPN, there are also other applications that can be used such as 1.1.1.1 which is the DNS launched by Cloudflare.

As reported by TechRadar page, 1.1.1.1 and VPN is one of the DNS traffic through the application server. Both will bypass the user’s ISP and prevent anyone from seeing the users’ traffic.

However, there are differences between the two applications. A VPN is a network that encrypts all activities performed including HTTP and HTTPS.

VPN and Cloudflare, Which is the Safest?

Best Vpn

The VPN server acts as an intermediary for the selected location. So it not only encrypts traffic, but also disguises its real location so users can access the internet freely as if you were in a different country or place.

Whereas with 1.1.1.1 it doesn’t do the same thing. The additional encryption used and the longer connection distance to the server can make the VPN connection slow. While Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 provides fast connections, there are also VPNs that offer speed. Between a VPN and Cloudflare it’s basically hard to tell the difference.

Then the question arises which is safer about privacy? 1.1.1.1 is claimed by TechRadar to be faster and protects users from prying eyes.

However, if you want to hide all activity on the internet, then you can choose a paid and good VPN.
