The Ministry of Industry has compiled a database containing the IMEI numbers of mobile phones that have officially entered Indonesia. However, if the IMEI number of a cellphone is not included in the list, then it is likely that the device entered Indonesia unofficially.

1. Check IMEI Number
Every cell phone has an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. This number is used as an identity number for each device. Cellular operators with IMEI numbers can also identify devices that can connect to their network.

2. Check Postel Permits
In addition to checking the IMEI number, you can also validate the certificate number on each device.
With this certificate, it can be seen that the equipment has passed the radio transmission and reception test from the Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology (SDPPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information.
