Beware, 100 GB Package Gift Scam on WhatsApp!
WhatsApp turns 10 years old in a few months. However, an important moment is instead used badly by irresponsible parties in carrying out their evil actions. One of these actions is by voicing fraud through this one chat application.
The form of the crime committed was a chain message where it seemed as if they were going to give a birthday gift in the form of a free internet package of 1,000 GB for WhatsApp users.
In the snippet of the gift message from WhatsApp it is entitled “WhatsApp Offers 1000 GB Free Internet”. If the user clicks on the link, the user will be redirected to a site with the WhatsApp logo. Later, a number of surveys will be presented that users need to answer to get information present.
The promised gift is just bullshit, because the site that the user is referring to is not the official WhatsApp property. Finally, WhatsApp users will be asked to forward the message to 30 other contacts as a condition of getting 1,000 GB of free internet.

Security firm ESET says this is a fraudulent way of messaging it is called a “click fraud scheme”. Where the makers want as many clicks as possible for their income from ads on the fake WhatsApp site.
Fortunately, so far the trap site has not done anything harmful to the user’s account or device such as embedding malware or steal user data. However, the site may at any time be installed with malicious programs.
Well, it’s best if you receive a message that smells of fraud like the one above, it’s enough to just shut up. Never click on it or pass it on to other people. ESET itself has suggested that Whatsapp share an educational campaign. So that later users will be more careful in responding to such fraudulent messages.
