Riot Games Confirms Global Wild Rift Tournament Held This Year
GridGames.ID – Riot Games confirmed that the global esports tournament League of Legends: Wild Rift will be held this year.
This information was conveyed by Riot Games’ Global Head of Esports, John Needham in the Media Preview session, Wednesday (5/5) night.
Needham sees mobile games will bring many changes to the future of esports.

To that end, Riot Games is ready to host the first global esports tournament Wild Rift.
“Although it has not yet fully established all the detailed specifications, Riot is determined to host a global Wild Rift esports event in the fourth quarter of this year,” he said.
Riot Games itself has taken the first step by holding a regional Wild Rift tournament some time ago.

One of them is an official tournament titled SEA Icon Series: Pre-Season which is specifically for the Southeast Asian region.
The five-week tournament was held in several locations, such as Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
A total of 54 professional teams participated in the SEA Icon Series: Pre-Season.
