Jean Francois Dugas as Senior Creative Director of the game Guardians of the Galaxy revealed several reasons why the developer did not present a multiplayer mode.

Dugas stated that Square Enix and Eidos Montreal wanted players to focus on the main character of the Guardians of The Galaxy game, namely Star-Lord or Peter Quill.

In addition, the Guardians of The Galaxy character’s personality which is too complex also makes it difficult for developers to present a multiplayer mode.

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal claim that they don’t want to reduce the complexity of the personalities in Guardians of The Galaxy in order to present an epic story to all players.
