GridGames.ID – The 2021 Esports President’s Cup (PPE) which took place on October 9, received a positive response from the public.

This is evident from the kickoff starting (9/10) until Tuesday (27/10), the number of participants who registered exceeded 107,389 athletes from all over Indonesia. Goks!

Rangga Danu Prasetyo, Chairperson of the 2021 PPE Organizer, said this was a positive indication that more and more young talents wanted to show their talents and abilities in the esports arena on a national scale.

“Obviously we are very proud of the enthusiasm of the participants in the 2021 Esports President Cup. From the start, we have designed this year’s championship to open up the widest possible opportunities for young Indonesian esports talents. One of them is by competing in more game branches than in previous years, so that we can attract more athletes from various game genres,” said Rangga.

PPE 2021 itself is a collaborative work across ministries and agencies consisting of:

  • Presidential Staff Office (KSP),
  • Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture,
  • Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment,
  • Ministry of Youth and Sports,
  • Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy,
  • Ministry of Communication and Informatics,
  • Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI),
  • PB Esports Indonesia (PBESI),
  • WHEELS.

Rangga and his party are targeting the 2021 PPE event to be able to attract hundreds of thousands of athletes from all over Indonesia.

This is reflected in the increasing number of participants since the tournament was first held in 2021.

“From a technical point of view, there is no problem because the scheme we have prepared is capable of accommodating hundreds of thousands of athletes in the six branches of the games that are competed. We are also increasingly focused on preparing for the 2021 PPE Grand Final which will be held offline in Nusa Dua, Bali, in December. The hope is that the athletes can focus on competing and fight as much as possible to bring out the best in their abilities,” he said.
