How to use Softether VPN easily on the PC
There are many differences in Softether VPN compared to OpenVPN or other VPN services, for me Softether is better in terms of distributed connections. An example is playing an online game that requires a UDP connection.
Of course, OpenVPN, which uses the TCP protocol, can’t do that, can it? But with Softether the TCP protocol can be switched to UDP and users can play online games smoothly depending on the speed of the VPN server.
How does this program work to change the protocol? I don’t know for sure either, but whether using or using this program is not difficult and Set up VPN as usual.
Best of all, Softether VPN also lets you connect from a proxy, even though users are currently using it injection In order to optimize the internet, the use of Softether VPN is not impossible either.

One of the websites that Server for Softether VPN makes available free of charge is VPNGate, but there are a lot of Softether VPN account providers out there too, it’s just that VPNGate has more servers in different countries that you can choose based on your speed.
This article only offers one way to connect to Softether VPN only, not from VPNGate, but fill in host, Username, and password Manually.
Just enter the Softether VPN program and if you don’t have it please download it from the Softether VPN website first.
Here I am showing that I am using a Softether VPN account obtained from the FastSSH website. In the program, double-click the menu with the name Add a VPN connection.
Okay, now starting with the top column, that is Server name Enter the name of the VPN. Any name can be used to set this option. Then next Hostname Fill in the server host. Port number Also enter the port provided by the server. Then next Name of the virtual hub Enter the appropriate information on the server. So, since I’m using FastSSH server, I’ll enter FastSSH.
Continue in the middle section Proxy type Please select the appropriate connection status. If the user is not using the injection, we recommend selecting Direct TCP / IP connection and while using the injection, select Connect via HTTP proxy server.
Jump straight to the side, namely the menu User authentication settings. By doing Authentication type wear it Standard password authentication. Then enter the username and password and enter the appropriate server account.
Now go back downstairs. Mark with a cross Reconnect automatically and give interval 5 Seconds like this picture. Then take a look too Infinitely reconnects. Done and the user can press the button OK to save it.
Last stage. The server name you added before is displayed in the server menu area of Softether VPN. And to connect, simply press the name of the server twice. Wait a moment and the server is securely connected.
Looks confusing doesn’t it? Make it easy for yourself, but if the user practices the above method directly, it will be very quick and understandable. It’s just like entering the SSH account credentials as you normally would and not being able to connect directly as with the OpenVPN configuration.
However, if the user uses a VPNGate server, the server is of course made available immediately and does not have to be set up again. Just press twice and connect immediately.

The connection process may take a long time depending on the server or user connection. My advice if you want to play online games use an Indonesian server because if you are using an external server, The PING you get will be pretty big to more than 400, which is not very good for online gaming.
Hopefully useful and good luck
