How to disable the recycle bin function in Samsung Gallery

How to disable the recycle bin function in Samsung Gallery

In the gallery on Samsung Android phones, there is a feature called Recycle Bin that is useful for saving deleted picture or video types of files. This function is activated by default and files stored there are automatically deleted after 30 days.

The utility of this recycle bin feature is to help users recover photos or videos if they are needed again. For example, if you accidentally delete a photo, this feature is very useful.

The disadvantage of activating it is that it will reduce memory due to temporary use by junk files. If the junk file is large, then the memory is on the phone drastically reduced. However, users can also permanently delete files that are in the Recycle Bin to save space.

If you think the trash can feature in Gallery is useless and just filling up memory, wouldn’t it be better to just turn it off? And here is how to do it.

  2. Tap Three point option.

Tap the three dot option in the gallery

  3. Select menu arrangement.

    Select the settings menu

  4. Scroll down and uncheck in the options rubbish.

  5. If a dialog box appears, tap an option Turn off.

    Tap Shutdown Option

After turning it off, deleted photos or videos will now be permanently deleted immediately. Alternatively, if you don’t want to lose a photo by accidentally deleting it, turn on photo syncing in Google Photos or Samsung Cloud.

Using Google Photos or Samsung Cloud does not affect the storage as the photos are on Cloud serverwhich is very safe and not lost. However, there is a storage limit for cloud storage which is approx 15 GB.

Deactivating the trash can function in the gallery is more intended for someone who runs out of space. If the available memory is large enough, it is a good idea to keep it active.

The rest will try to think again to disable the feature. Since users can still delete a file on their own there, they don’t have to wait 30 days for it to be permanently deleted.

There is currently no way to change the time of permanently deleting files in the Gallery Trash. But one day this feature may be available. This allows users to choose how many days files are automatically deleted and not limited to 30 days.

Hopefully useful and good luck
