Dark Mode is now available in the WhatsApp beta. How to use it!

Facebook seems to be bringing the dark mode feature to the WhatsApp service soon. This can be seen from the latest version of WhatsApp Beta that introduced this feature.

Information on this was found by WABetaInfo. Citing information from AndroidAuthority, WABetaInfo found this function in the WhatsApp update version 2.20.13 (beta).

The update for the WhatsApp beta is now being rolled out from Facebook to the Google Play Store service. Some users who signed up for the beta program can now try the long-awaited feature.

But for those of you who are really curious about how WhatsApp’s dark mode will look, you shouldn’t be disappointed after seeing it because WhatsApp’s dark mode may not be what you want.

To illustrate, the dark mode offered by this beta update will not change WhatsApp with a completely black theme, as is the case with various applications that already support this mode.

Instead of using a black theme, they just offer a gray theme switch, which can be quite disappointing for smartphone users looking to apply a black theme to AMOLED panel displays.

But luckily, the dark mode offered by WhatsApp is still more comfortable than the light mode. Less light is emitted, so it does not dazzle in poor lighting conditions.

To try it out, you can visit the Google Play Store page if you are already registered as a beta tester participant. However, if you are not registered with the program, you can download it manually through APKMirror.

When you’re done downloading and installing, you can open the app and tap more menu which is represented by a three-dot symbol in the upper right corner of the main page.

In the menu that appears, select Settings and go to Options Chats. Then you can press the button topic and choose an option Dark to activate the function.

Currently, the offered dark mode is already sufficient. But I myself hope that the mode can be darker to beautify the existing dark theme and at the same time make AMOLED panel smartphones more energy efficient.
